Suzanne and I kicked off the official opening of The Pretty Petal at Centerville, Utah's 4th of July carnival. We had been working like crazy for a few weeks trying to make enough inventory for the big event. With our web-site (www.theprettypetal.com) opening for business on the exact same day, we had to be ready!! Here's a picture of our booth at the carnival:
We were very pleased with the way the booth turned out. It was so cute and we had so much fun setting it up and seeing the "fruits" of our labors in one 9 ft. X 9 ft. space! Business started a little slow and we wondered if ANYONE would buy any of our stuff! But it wasn't long before things started picking up and we began selling, and what a thrill that was! Here are some of our satisfied customers from the event:
This "pretty petal" is wearing one of our popular beanies with our equally popular gerber daisy flower clip attached...so cute. Suzanne and I were shocked when we sold out of all of our beanies - they were a big hit!!

These girls designed their own beanies, choosing first the color of beanie that they liked, then choosing a ribbon to weave through the beanie, and then a flower clip to complete the look. Suzanne and I thought up the "Build-a-Beanie" concept on our own and it was very popular at the fair, especially among older girls who wanted to individualize their look! We hope to have the "Build-a-Beanie" available for on-line shoppers in the near future!

Suzanne and I couldn't believe how universally adorable the beanies were. They looked good on baby girls, older girls and even adults! Hair length doesn't matter either. This older girl has her long hair pulled back into a pony tail, but a lot of the girls had short hair tucked behind their ears. The beanie seemed to complement every length and style of hair...how versatile!

We had so much fun with all the baby girls flocking to our booth. This little girl looked so cute in a white crocheted headband and a white bow with a flower & gem center.

This baby girl is also wearing the ever-popular white crocheted headband, but we attached a pink flower clip to hers instead of the bow, for a whole different look. All of our bows and flowers are attached to alligator clips so they interchangeable with any headband - you just slip the clips through the weave of the headband. I love her flower clip worn on the side...how stylish is she!!

We had so much fun operating our little booth. We met so many great people who were as excited about our products as we are! We had mirrors so the girls could try on whatever they liked and they definitely loved that!

Here is my adorable, almost 5 year-old niece Emma trying to get a good look at the white carnation clip her mom bought for her...thanks Kalisa. I loved how she attached it to the side of her bun for a more trendy look. Brilliant!

Well, we are definitely glad to have that event under our belts and are so happy/relieved that it was such a success. Suzanne and I are now trying to figure out ways to get our name out there and decide on what other local venues we should sell at. Any ideas?
